• Tool Room Engineer Development and Precision Tooling

  Job Description

  Responsibilities:

  Design, modify, and optimize press tools (progressive, compound, draw dies), plastic injection molds, die-casting dies, and specialized welding/machining jigs and fixtures.

  Plan and execute Tool Room operations, including machining (die-sinking EDM, wire-cut EDM, VMC, precision grinding, turning, milling), heat treatment oversight, and final assembly/tryouts.

  Perform preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance, sharpening, polishing, and repair of production tooling to ensure zero line stoppages.

  Conduct tool tryouts, initial sample inspection runs, and debug tooling defects during New Product Introduction (NPI) or engineering change orders (ECO).

  Perform root-cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) on tool-related component defects, premature tool wear, cracking, or dimensional deviations.

  Inspect completed tooling and spare components using precision instruments (CMM, profile projectors, micrometers, height gauges) against CAD models and 2D blueprints.

  Maintain comprehensive tool history records, tool life logs, drawing revisions, and spare tool inventories in ERP or Tool Management software.

  Enforce strict Tool Room safety protocols, 5S workplace organization, machine operating safety guidelines, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures

   

  Experience: 0 to 3 yrs

  Education: Diploma/BE in Mech
