  Job Description

  Duties:

  Pre-authorization numbers, guarantor information, insurance coverage details, and patient demographics should all be accurately entered and audited into practice management systems and electronic health records.

  Charge Capture & Encounter Transcription: Enter procedure and diagnostic codes together with matching units and price schedules to convert medical superbills, provider encounter forms, and operation reports into billable charges.

  Medical Coding & Modifier Validation: Apply the proper CPT/HCPCS modifiers, confirm NCCI edit compliance, and cross-reference procedural charges with diagnostic codes to confirm medical necessity.

  Rejection and Pre-Scrubbing Claims Resolution: Before sending claims, scrub charge batches against clearinghouse and payer-specific edit rules to fix upfront field mistakes, missing taxonomy codes, and invalid ID problems right away.

  Charge Batch Auditing & Reconciliation: To guarantee 100% charge capture with no unbilled or missing service encounters, reconcile daily charge input batches against clinic encounter logs and appointment schedules.

   

  Focus Skills:

  Superbill Interpretation & PM System Mastery: Capable of interpreting hospital face sheets, superbills, and physician encounter notes on the main US healthcare platforms.

  Medical Terminology & Coding Familiarity: Good knowledge of fee schedules, CPT modifiers, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS coding structures, and basic NCCI edit guidelines.

  High-Speed Data Entry & Precision Scrubbing: When verifying policy numbers, service dates, and charge amounts, exceptional alphanumeric data entry speed and accuracy are combined with keen attention to detail.

  Patient privacy and HIPAA Adherence: Strict compliance with healthcare data security procedures, protected health information (PHI) laws, and HIPAA requirements.
