  Job Description

  Duties:

  Insurance Follow-Up & Daily Workqueue Execution: Make outgoing calls to government and commercial insurance providers to enquire about the status of claims, verify that submitted claims have been received, and forward pending claims to adjudication.

  Identify claim denials during phone conversations, confirm patient eligibility information, amend any missing billing or demographic data, and resubmit clean claims for re-adjudication.

  Documentation & Call Note Recording: In the Practice Management system, save accurate, consistent, and audit-ready call notes that include representative names, call reference numbers, claim payment dates, check/EFT details, and action plans.

  Escalation & Cross-Functional Hand-off: Forward complicated clinical rejections, unpaid patient balances, coding inconsistencies, and credentialing delays to Patient Access teams, Medical Coders, or specialised AR Analysts.

  Payer Guideline & Timely Filing Compliance: To avoid avoidable claim abandonments and write-offs, confirm timely filing windows and payer-specific billing rules during phone conversations.

   

  Focus Skills:

  Insurance Phone Follow-Up & Payer Relations Expertise: Excellent knowledge of outbound insurance calling procedures, IVR system navigation, effective payer representative communication, and acquiring accurate claim adjudication facts.

  Medical Billing & EOB/ERA Fundamentals: Basic understanding of CMS-1500 forms, patient copays, deductibles, coinsurance structures, CARC/RARC denial reason codes, and the Revenue Cycle Management process.

  Systems & Web Portal for Payers Familiarity: Practical experience with practice management software and major insurance portals to verify eligibility and claim statuses.

  HIPAA Compliance & Verbal Communication: Absolute dedication to upholding patient health information (PHI) confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations, clear verbal fluency, attentive listening, and a professional tone.
