• E&I Technician Installation, Testing & Troubleshooting

  Job Description

  Duties:

  Perform routine testing, inspection, and calibration of field instruments including pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature sensors (RTDs/Thermocouples), level gauges, and analytical instruments.

  Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) and breakdown troubleshooting on electrical equipment, motor control centers (MCC), variable frequency drives (VFDs), switchgears, and 3-phase motors.

  Inspect, service, and calibrate final control elements, control valves, pneumatic actuators, smart positioners, solenoid valves, and I/P converters.

  Trace and troubleshoot PLC I/O wiring, field bus communication cables (Modbus, Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus), relay control panels, and instrument loop circuits.

  Utilize specialized electrical and instrumentation test tools—including HART communicators, loop calibrators, digital multimeters, signal generators, and insulation resistance testers (Megger).

  Document completed work orders, instrument calibration certificates, parameter settings, and spare parts utilization in maintenance logbooks or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

  Adhere strictly to shop-floor safety protocols, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) rules, and hazardous area classification standards

   

  Focus Skills:

  Strong technical background in dual-domain electrical and process instrumentation maintenance within manufacturing plants.

  Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), loop diagrams, and instrument hookup drawings.

  Practical hands-on experience using HART calibrators, pressure hand pumps, signal simulators, and electrical testing instruments.

  Solid understanding of control loops, PID tuning principles, 4 - 20 mA signal transmission, pneumatic control valves, and PLC hardware interfaces.

  Good visual acuity, fine motor dexterity, and disciplined adherence to safety standards during live equipment testing
