  Job Description

  Duties:

  Mould, Die & Fixture Maintenance & Repair: Manage and carry out scheduled overhauls, corrective repairs, breakdown diagnostics, and preventive maintenance for injection moulds, press/stamping dies, jigs & fixtures, and inspection gauges.

  quality Machining & Tool Fabrication: To build high-quality tool components within micrometric tolerances, oversee and carry out precision machining operations using CNC, VMC, EDM, Wire-EDM, grinding, and manual machines.

  Tooling Design & Engineering Modifications: Examine 2D/3D CAD models, carry out Engineering Change Notices on current moulds and dies, create tooling inserts and spares, and verify tooling functionality before production is released.

  Tooling Trials, Qualification, and Quality Troubleshooting: Conduct mold/die trial runs, assess first-off samples with QA teams, examine dimensional non-conformities, and put corrective measures in place for flaws like flash, burrs, warping, or short shots.

  Tool Life Management and Replacement Parts Inventory: To reduce production downtime, monitor mould shot counts, die stroke cycles, and tool wear rates. Determine reorder levels for essential tooling parts, such as core/cavity inserts, ejector pins, punches, dies, springs, and guide bushings.

   

  Focus Skills:

  Tooling Engineering & Mold/Die Technology Mastery: In-depth technical understanding of heat treatment procedures, jigs and fixtures, press tool/die design, injection mould construction, and tool steels.

  Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and precision machining: practical knowledge of CNC/VMC programming, EDM/Wire-EDM operation, precision surface grinding, and CAD/CAM platforms.

  Metrology and Precision Measurement Capabilities: Expertise in using precision equipment for high-accuracy component inspection, such as micrometres, Vernier callipers, dial indicators, height gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and profile projectors.

  Root Cause Analysis & Tooling Troubleshooting: Excellent problem-solving abilities using 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone analysis to determine the underlying causes of part quality flaws, premature wear, and tool damage during production runs.
