• CNC Programmer Precision Machining & Quality Control

  Job Description

  Duties:

  Create, prove out, and optimize G-code and M-code CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Edgecam, Esprit, SolidCAM) or manual ISO programming for CNC turning and milling machines.

  Select optimal cutting tools, inserts, tool holders, feed rates, spindle speeds, and coolant application based on material specifications and surface finish requirements.

  Design, select, and setup workholding fixtures, chuck jaws, collets, and steady rests to ensure part stability and precision during high-speed machining.

  Interpret engineering drawings, process route sheets, operational sketches, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) callouts.

  Perform first-piece setup verification, dry runs, and single-block executions on the shop floor to prevent tool breakage, collisions, or part scrap.

  Monitor machining cycle times, identify bottlenecks, and execute continuous improvement initiatives to improve tool life and throughput.

  Maintain organized program repositories, setup documentation, tool lists, and engineering change logs in compliance with ISO/IATF quality standards

   

  Focus Skills:

  Strong technical proficiency in CAM programming software (Mastercam, Edgecam, SolidCAM, or Fusion 360) and 2D/3D CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).

  In-depth expertise in CNC machine controller operations and G-code/M-code troubleshooting (Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, Mazak, or Mitsubishi controllers).

  Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles, stack-up analysis, and precision measuring instruments (micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges).

  Comprehensive knowledge of cutting tool geometry, tool wear patterns, feeds/speeds calculations, and material machinability index.

  Strong mechanical problem-solving skills, shop-floor troubleshooting, and attention to detail
