• Electrical Engineer Plant Energy & Power Management

  Job Description

  Duties:

  Oversee the safe operation, load balancing, and ongoing maintenance of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, such as transformers, MV/LV switchgear, circuit breakers, ring main units, supply feeders, and emergency diesel generators.

  Drive Systems & Motor Control Optimisation: To guarantee maximum equipment efficiency and process control, maintain, program, and troubleshoot motor control centers, variable frequency drives, soft starters, induction motors, and industrial control panels.

  Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Execution: To prevent catastrophic power outages, develop and carry out planned preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance programs using thermography, insulation resistance testing, partial discharge analysis, and oil sampling.

  Breakdown Response & Root-Cause Analysis (RCA): Conduct structured root-cause analysis (8D, 5 Whys) to build long-term remedial and preventive activities; oversee engineering investigations during unexpected electrical tripping, short circuits, or drive failures.

   

  Focus Skills:

  Comprehensive knowledge of MV/LV electrical networks, transformer loads, switchgear maintenance, protective relay coordination, busbar design, and power factor correction systems are all part of industrial power distribution and systems engineering.

  Drives, Controls & Automation Literacy: Excellent knowledge of setting up and debugging VFDs (ABB, Siemens, Schneider, Danfoss), soft starters, star-delta starters, relay logic, and fundamental PLC/SCADA control loops.

  Proficiency in reading, editing, and producing single-line diagrams, electrical wiring schematics, cable schedules, short-circuit calculations, and load flow analysis is required for schematic interpretation and power studies.

  Statutory Regulations & Electrical Safety: unwavering dedication to grounding standards, electrical safety rules, arc flash safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and national and international electrical regulations.
