  Job Description

  In manufacturing industries, the Quality Supervisor is in charge of overseeing daily shop-floor quality inspection procedures, managing the team of quality technicians and inspectors, and enforcing quality assurance procedures across all operational shifts. Serving as the operational liaison between engineering teams, shop-floor production supervisors, and plant quality management, this position keeps an eye on product compliance, oversees scrap/rework reduction drives, manages real-time containment actions for defective parts, and guarantees that all measurement equipment, incoming materials, and finished goods adhere to engineering specifications and customer standards.

   

  Key Duties

  Supervise, train, and staff quality inspectors and technicians on shifts to ensure continuous quality assurance on the production line.

  Monitor Incoming Material Control (IQC), Incoming Quality Control (IPQC), and Final Quality Control (FQC) to ensure compliance with technical drawings and GD&T standards. 

  Immediate containment procedures, isolation of non-conforming materials, issuance of plant closure notices in the event of out-of-specification conditions, and management of line re-cleaning.

  Lead early failure investigations and support Quality Engineers in implementing 8D Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5 Cause Analysis, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).

  Track and report key shop-floor quality metrics, including Scrap Rate, First Pass Yield (FPY), Customer Returns, and Defect-PPM levels during daily production review meetings.

  Oversee calibration schedules for shop-floor gauges, handheld precision tools, and testing equipment, ensuring all tools are validated and within calibration intervals.
