• Electrical Fault Analysis Engineer Plant Machinery

  Job Description

  Duties:

  Plan and execute preventive (PM), predictive (PdM), and emergency maintenance across all plant electrical assets, including transformers, HT/LT switchgears, PCC/MCC panels, circuit breakers, and sub-stations.

  Troubleshoot complex electrical faults, motor drives (VFDs/Soft Starters), control circuits, PLCs, relay logic, and industrial power distribution systems to minimize mean time to repair (MTTR).

  Monitor and manage power quality, power factor correction (APFC panels), transformer loading, and energy consumption metrics to ensure efficient plant electrical utilization.

  Perform thermal imaging (infrared thermography), insulation resistance testing (Megger tests), earth pit resistance testing, and breaker testing as part of condition-based maintenance routines.

  Oversee plant electrical utility operations, including diesel generators (DG sets), UPS systems, battery banks, industrial lighting, and lightning protection systems.

  Maintain comprehensive electrical engineering records, circuit diagrams, single-line diagrams (SLD), calibration logs, and spare parts inventory for electrical components.

  Enforce strict shop-floor electrical safety standards, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, arc-flash safety measures, and compliance with statutory electrical safety regulations and authority requirements

   

  Focus Skills:

  Strong practical knowledge of industrial electrical equipment, high-voltage/low-voltage distribution networks, motor control centers (MCC), transformers, and switchgear protection relays.

  Practical hands-on expertise in troubleshooting VFDs, soft starters, industrial sensors, control panels, basic PLC I/O wiring, and electrical interlocks.

  Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and updating complex electrical schematic diagrams, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and panel layout drawings.

  Familiarity with electrical testing equipment, power quality analyzers, thermal imaging cameras, and insulation testers.

  Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS/SAP PM) for managing electrical work orders and preventive schedules
