  Responsibilities:

  Patient Demographic & Insurance Verification Entry: Correctly input and validate policy numbers, subscriber data, coverage details, and patient personal information into the Practice Management system.

  Superbill and Charge Entry Processing: Enter charge amounts, diagnosis codes (ICD-10-CM), procedure codes (CPT/HCPCS), and modifiers from paper superbills or EHR encounter logs into the billing system.

  Pre-Billing Claim Scrubbing & Validation: To avoid front-end rejections, check entries against clearinghouse regulations, payer billing guidelines, National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) modifications, and charge schedules.

  Charge Lag and Unbilled Inventory Reduction: To reduce charge lag and unbilled encounter backlogs, make sure that daily charge capture compliance is maintained.

  Cross-Functional Billing Coordination: Before submitting a claim, work with medical coders, patient access teams, and AR analysts to fix any missing paperwork, unlinked diagnosis codes, or incorrect provider information.

   

  Required Skills: 

  Demographic and Charge input Mastery: Comprehensive understanding of CPT/ICD-10 input, patient intake forms, encounter processing, modifier placement, and healthcare superbills in multispecialty offices.

  EHR & Practice Management Systems Proficiency: Practical knowledge of clearinghouse charge validation modules, practice management (PM) tools, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

  Strong knowledge of charge schedules, place of service (POS) codes, NCCI bundling edits, diagnostic linkage requirements, and timely filing regulations is necessary for medical billing.

  Data Precision & Speed: Minimal keystroke error rates and fast, accurate numeric and alphanumeric data entry capabilities.
