  Job Description

  The E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) Supervisor in Manufacturing Industries is responsible for supervising daily maintenance operations, leading electrical and instrumentation technicians, and enforcing strict engineering protocols across all operational shifts. Serving as the critical link between plant engineering management, maintenance teams, and shop-floor production leads, this role oversees routine electrical maintenance, instrument loop testing, panel servicing, and emergency breakdown responses to ensure continuous plant uptime, power reliability, and maximum operational safety.

   

  Key Duties

  Performs thorough physical, electrical, dimensional, and functional inspections of incoming, in-process, and installed electrical and instrumentation components.

  Inspects HV/LV switchgear, PCC/MCC control panels, power transformers, junction boxes, cable trays, earth grids, and conduits. 

  Verify installation, wiring, and loop testing of field devices such as pressure/temperature transmitters, flow meters, level transmitters, control valves, solenoid valves, and safety interlocks against piping and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs) and loop diagrams.

  Performs specialized E&I test procedures such as insulation resistance (megger) tests, ground well resistance tests, voltage/current balance tests, loop calibration tests, and signal continuity tests. 

  Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning inspections, create checklists and mark permits for new electrical infrastructure upgrades and equipment automation.

  Issue nonconformance reports (NCRs), label nonconforming equipment, and work with maintenance teams and subcontractors to perform corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). 

  Ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines, Hazardous Location Classifications (ATEX/Ex Standards), National Electrical Codes and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
