  Job Description

  The Production Planning and Control (PPC) Engineer in Manufacturing Industries is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring manufacturing workflows to ensure optimal resource utilization, on-time customer delivery, and efficient inventory management. Working as the central hub between sales, procurement, production, quality, and dispatch, this role develops Master Production Schedules (MPS), tracks daily work-in-progress (WIP), controls material requirements (MRP), and mitigates production bottlenecks to maximize operational throughput

   

  Responsibilities:

  Develop and maintain Master Production Schedules (MPS) and detailed daily/weekly shop-floor production plans based on sales orders, demand forecasts, and plant capacity.

  Perform Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to ensure timely availability of raw materials, bought-out components, sub-assemblies, and tooling in coordination with supply chain/procurement.

  Allocate machine capacity, labor resources, and production lines to optimize machine utilization and balance shop-floor workloads.

  Track daily production progress against planned targets, monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP), identify production bottlenecks, and re-sequence orders to prevent schedule delays.

  Coordinate with Quality, Tool Room, and Maintenance teams to align scheduled downtime, tool tryouts, and quality hold clearances with production deadlines.

  Manage production documentation, create Work Orders, Job Cards, Bill of Materials (BOM), and Route Cards within the ERP software.

  Monitor finished goods inventory levels, minimize safety stock carrying costs, analyze capacity variances, and prepare weekly/monthly production performance reports

   

  Skills:

  strong grasp of supply chain dynamics, capacity planning, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and production planning techniques.

  extensive practical expertise with complex data analysis in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) and ERP production modules (SAP PP, Oracle, MS Dynamics).

  strong understanding of lead times, cycle times, assembly line balancing, key manufacturing processes, and inventory control methods (ABC, VED, JIT, Kanban).

  Outstanding communication, analytical, and cross-functional coordination abilities to match plant operational restrictions with sales demand
