Job Description
The principal "Mechanical Systems Lead, Thermal & Fluid Equipment Specialist, Mechanical Design & Drafting Guardian, Machine Reliability Specialist & Safety Integration Lead" in our engineering and manufacturing facilities is the Mechanical Engineer Mechanical Design, Thermal & Fluid Systems, Preventive Equipment Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis & Mechanical Analytics Specialist. Your main responsibility is to design, assess, install, optimise, repair, and maintain mechanical machinery, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, thermal equipment, and structural assemblies while Chief Engineers, Engineering Directors, Plant Operations Managers, and R&D Heads set macro capital expansion strategies, plant layout designs, CapEx budgets, and operational performance targets.
Responsibilities:
Mechanical Systems Design & Engineering: Use SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, or CATIA to create, evaluate, and alter intricate 3D CAD models, assembly drawings, and fabrication schematics; use Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to carry out stress/thermal calculations.
Mechanical Equipment Maintenance & Reliability: To guarantee maximum equipment uptime, plan, schedule, and carry out preventative, predictive, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing machines, hydraulic presses, pneumatic systems, pumps, compressors, conveyors, and drive trains.
Lead technical investigations into mechanical component failures using Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA); apply FMEA frameworks, Fishbone diagrams, and 5-Why to execute long-term corrective and preventative measures (CAPA).
Thermal, Hydraulic, and Fluid Systems Optimisation: To guarantee appropriate pressure, flow rate, and thermal performance, monitor and optimise plant utility networks, such as compressed air lines, chilled water systems, hydraulic power units, boilers, and heat exchangers.
Skills:
Mechanical CAD Design & Drafting Mastery: Expertise in 2D drafting (SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, CATIA, Inventor) and 3D parametric modelling with a thorough understanding of manufacturing tolerances, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), and material selection (steels, alloys, polymers).
Comprehensive practical knowledge of rotating machinery, bearings, gearboxes, hydraulic/pneumatic circuits, pumps, valves, compressors, heat exchangers and power transmission hardware is required for industrial mechanical systems and utilities.
Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), vibration analysis, dynamic balance, precise shaft alignment, tribology, and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) are all practically mastered.
Strict adherence to safety procedures, such as lockout/tagout, pressure vessel safety rules, machine safeguarding requirements, and lifting/rigging protocols, is a key component of industrial safety, LOTO, and structural integrity.
