  Responsibilities:

  Process and post high-volume electronic remittance advice (ERA) auto-postings and manual paper Explanation of Benefits (EOB) payments onto patient ledgers.

  Post co-pays, deductibles, coinsurance, contractual allowances, secondary insurance payments, and direct patient payments accurately.

  Reconcile daily batch postings against bank deposits, lockbox reports, merchant statements, and clearinghouse transmission summaries.

  Identify, analyze, and document insurance payment variances, underpayments, overpayments, zero-paid claims, and denial reason codes (CARC/RARC).

  Flag and route claim denials, unpaid balances, and posting discrepancies to the Accounts Receivable (AR) follow-up or denial management teams for action.

  Process balance transfers, bad-debt write-offs, sliding-scale adjustments, and refund requests according to established client financial guidelines.

  Ensure strict adherence to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy guidelines and internal financial control standards

   

  Required Skills: 

  Strong understanding of US Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), EOB/ERA interpretation, and payment posting principles.

  Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance claim structures, contractual adjustments, and denial reason codes.

  Exceptional numerical accuracy, high speed data entry (10-key numeric keypad proficiency), and strong attention to detail.

  Hands-on proficiency with medical billing software, EHR/EMR platforms (e.g., eClinicalWorks, AdvancedMD, Kareo, Epic), and MS Excel.

  Basic accounting principles, account reconciliation capability, and analytical problem-solving skills.
