  Job Description

  Duties:

  Database Architecture & SchemaDesign: Create, construct, and refine normalised relational database schemas, tables, views, constraints, and indexes in accordance with data integrity standards and business domain needs.

  sophisticated T-SQL/PL-SQL & StoredProcedure Development: To carry out essential business logic and transaction processing, write, test, and manage sophisticated SQL scripts, stored procedures, user-defined functions, database triggers, and CTEs.

  Query Performance Tuning & Index Management: Use execution plans, database profilers, index optimisation, and partitioning techniques to find, examine, and fix performance bottlenecks, deadlocks, and slow-running queries.

  ETL/ELT Pipeline & Data Integration Management: Create and put into place automated workflows for data extraction, transformation, and loading to process large amounts of enterprise data.

  Data Integrity, Backup, and Security Enforcement: Assist DBAs with transaction log management, database migration, backup/disaster recovery validation, and the implementation of stringent data security rules, role-based access rights, and data validation requirements.

   

  Focus Skills:

  Advanced proficiency in SQL variants (T-SQL, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL SQL, MySQL) and practical administrative/development knowledge of the main relational database platforms (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) constitute core SQL mastery and RDBMS expertise.

  Strong expertise in relational database architecture, ER modelling, dimensional modelling (star/snowflake schemas), normalisation (1NF through 3NF), and indexing techniques.

  Query Optimisation & Performance Diagnostics: In-depth knowledge of query execution plan analysis, index tuning, deadlock/blocking resolution, join operation optimisation, and database profiling tools.

  ETL Engineering & Data Utilities: Demonstrated expertise building high-volume ETL/ELT processes with custom Python/SQL automation scripts or enterprise integration solutions.
