  Job Description

  The main "CAD Drafting Engine, Engineering Drawing Specialist, Manufacturing Blueprint Anchor, Design Standards Guardian & Production Integration Anchor" for our plant engineering and product development operations is the AutoCAD Design Engineer in Manufacturing Industries 2D/3D Drafting, Production Blueprints, GD&T, Engineering Change Orders & Operations Analytics Specialist. Your main responsibility is to create, edit, validate, and oversee detailed 2D production blueprints, 3D AutoCAD models, plant layout schematics, tooling drawings, and component assemblies while Chief Engineers, R&D Managers, Plant Heads, and Manufacturing Engineering Directors set high-level product architectures, design release schedules, capital expenditure budgets, and quality standards.

   

  Responsibilities:

  2D Production Drafting & 3D AutoCAD Modelling: Use AutoCAD to create high-precision 2D manufacturing drawings, assembly views, exploded layouts, section views, and 3D CAD models in accordance with national and international drafting standards (ASME, ISO, DIN).

  Application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T): To guarantee clear production instructions and interchangeable component fit, apply thorough GD&T callouts, surface finish symbols, weld symbols, material callouts, and fit/tolerance specifications.

  Design for Manufacturability & Production Collaboration: To optimise CAD drawings for tool access, bending radii, machining allowances, and economical production, work closely with CNC machinists, sheet metal fabricators, mould makers, and assembly line engineers.

  Engineering Change Order & Revision Control: To avoid shop-floor production errors, carry out engineering change requests, update legacy drawings, keep stringent revision histories, make sure drawing control numbers match PLM/ERP databases, and archive outdated drawings.

   

  Skills:

  Mastery of AutoCAD and Technical Drafting: Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D, AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset, dynamic blocks, layer management, plot styles, linetypes, dimension styles, and external references (Xrefs).

  Engineering drawings & GD&T Expertise: Extensive knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards, tolerance stack-up analysis, manufacturing process symbols (welding, machining, casting, sheet metal), and the ability to read and interpret intricate engineering drawings.

  Manufacturing Process & Material Knowledge: A practical grasp of common manufacturing processes, such as CNC turning and milling, sheet metal punching and bending, injection moulding, welding, and casting, as well as material qualities, such as steel, aluminium, and engineering plastics.

  PLM/PDM & Drawing Management Systems: Practical knowledge of vault revision controls, ERP drawing master linking (SAP, Oracle), and Product Data Management (PDM)/Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
