Job Description
The primary 'Electrical & Instrumentation Field Specialist, Shop-Floor Loop Calibration Anchor, Control Circuit Executor & Plant Up-time Guardian' in each of our manufacturing facilities is the E&I Technician in Manufacturing & Operations – Electrical Maintenance, Instrumentation Calibration, PLC I/O Diagnostics, Equipment Reliability & Maintenance Analytics Specialist. Your main responsibility is to carry out hands-on maintenance, installation, calibration, breakdown troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance across all combined electrical power distribution systems, electronic controls, process instruments, and automated manufacturing equipment, while Electrical & Instrumentation Engineers, Maintenance Managers, and Operations Directors set macro asset maintenance strategies, safety standards, and operational goals.
Responsibilities:
Practical E&I Breakdown Maintenance: In order to reduce line downtime, promptly respond to shop-floor breakdown calls by identifying and fixing both electrical defects (motors, starters, contactors, switchgear, panel wiring) and instrumentation problems.
Execution of Preventive Maintenance and Calibration: Use precision calibrators to calibrate field instruments (such as pressure, temperature, level, and flow transmitters, control valves, pH meters, and weigh feeders) and document calibration drift.
PLC I/O Diagnostics & Control Panel Maintenance: Help engineers with PLC I/O signal checks, digital/analog input-output module wiring, field junction box (JB) inspections, control loop cable tracing and relay or field device replacements.
Motors, Drives, and Actuator Maintenance: Install, wire, test, and troubleshoot 3-phase AC motors, motorised valves, solenoids, limit switches, VFD terminal connections, and pneumatic/hydraulic actuators.
Skills:
Combined Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance: Practical expertise in both field instrumentation (transmitters, control valves, solenoids, sensors) and electrical control wiring, motor starters, contactors, relays, and three-phase power circuits.
Expertise in Calibration and Loop Testing: Practical knowledge with process calibrators, including multimeters, HART communicators, pressure hand pumps, dry-block temperature bath calibrators, and multifunction loop calibrators.
Automation Signal & Control Circuit Knowledge: Capacity to trace 4-20mA/0-10V control loops, check PLC I/O module field wiring, and understand electrical schematics, P&ID drawings, and control loop diagrams.
Strong adherence to industrial safety standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, arc flash safety, grounding/earthing checks, and safety regulations for hazardous/flammable process settings are all part of shop-floor safety and intrinsic safety requirements.
