• Mold Setter Production Changeover & Quality

  Job Description:

  The Mold Setter is responsible for executing safe, efficient, and timely mold changeovers, setups, and clamping on plastic injection molding machines. Working directly on the shop floor, this role ensures injection molds, cooling lines, hot runner systems, and auxiliary equipment are installed, aligned, and primed according to process setup sheets to support uninterrupted production runs and prevent tool damage

   

  Key Duties:

  Perform complete mold replacements, including dismantling finished molds, installing new injection molds, tightening and connecting hydraulic, pneumatic and cooling water lines.

  Before clamping the machine, check the mold alignment, plate parallelism, cross beam clearances, ejector pin connections and bar connections.

  Load pre-programmed machine process parameters into injection molding controllers (Engel, KraussMaffei, Arburg, Sumitomo, Nissei, etc.) based on standard configuration tables.

  Connect, test, and troubleshoot hot runner temperature controllers, mold temperature controllers (thermolators), and hydraulic core sequences. 

  Performs initial purge, test checks and coordinates with quality and tuning engineers to obtain initial part inspection clearance (T0/T1/FAIR).

  Perform mold cleaning, inspection, and basic preventive maintenance during changeover (parting line inspection, vent cleaning, ejector pin inspection, and application of anti-rust spray before storage). 

  Strictly adhere to workshop safety protocols, overhead crane/hoist operating procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) rules and heavy rigging safety standards.
