• SolidWorks Design Engineer Industrial Components

  Job Description

  Duties:

  Develop 3D parametric parts, sheet metal components, weldments, castings, plastic enclosures, and complex mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks.

  Generate detailed 2D production drawings, assembly layouts, sub-assembly exploded views, and Bill of Materials (BOM) in compliance with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards.

  Perform structural, deflection, and stress evaluations using SolidWorks Simulation (FEA) to validate design safety factors and optimize material usage.

  Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) rules for CNC machining, sheet metal bending, stamping, injection molding, and welding operations.

  Execute tolerance stack-up analysis to verify fitments, clearances, and interferences in multi-component mechanical assemblies.

  Manage Product Data Management (PDM) workflows, including check-in/check-out processes, Engineering Change Orders (ECO/ECN), part numbering, and revision tracking.

  Collaborate with prototype fabricators, tool room engineers, quality teams, and procurement specialists during New Product Introduction (NPI) and design validation testing

   

  Focus Skills:

  Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD (including Sheet Metal, Weldments, Surfacing, Motion Study, and SolidWorks PDM/Vault).

  Strong working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and mechanical clearance fit standards.

  Practical understanding of common manufacturing processes (CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, plastic injection molding, casting, welding).

  Familiarity with SolidWorks Simulation (FEA) for basic static structural, linear stress, and frequency analysis.

  Solid analytical, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills for working with plant operations and vendor networks
