Job Description
The main 'Line Quality Inspector, Measurement Execution Engine, Shop-Floor Metrology Anchor & Defect Gatekeeper' for our manufacturing operations is the QC Engineer in Manufacturing Industries: Quality Control, Physical Inspection, Metrology & Gauging, Defect Containment & Manufacturing Analytics Specialist. Your main responsibility is to carry out daily physical quality control, dimension verifications, and material testing across incoming, in-process (IPQC), and final pre-dispatch inspection (PDI) stages while Operations Directors, Plant Heads, and Quality Managers create macro quality policies, QMS standards, and engineering guidelines.
Responsibilities
Inspection Execution (Incoming, In-Process, and PDI): Follow engineering drawings and inspection standard operating procedures (SOPs) when performing practical dimensional, physical, and visual inspections on incoming raw materials, in-process machined/fabricated components (IPQC), and completed assemblies (PDI).
Precision Metrology & Instrument Handling: To confirm tight feature tolerances, use precision measuring instruments such as profile projectors, micrometres, height gauges, dial indicators, bore gauges, plug/thread gauges, vernier callipers, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
First-Piece & In-Process Quality Clearance: Perform routine floor roaming inspections to identify process drift early; perform first-off sample inspections after setup or tool modifications to obtain production clearance.
Defect Segregation and Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR): To avoid unintentional mix-ups or line usage, identify, tag, and segregate non-conforming raw materials, semi-finished components, and final products; raise thorough Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).
Skills:
Metrology & Measurement Expertise: Understanding gauge handling care and practically mastering precise measurement equipment.
Strong proficiency in reading technical engineering drawings and deciphering fundamental Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) callouts.
Sampling Plans & Defect Classification: familiarity with standard sampling tables, methods for identifying defects, and quarantine protocols.
First-Off Clearance & Process Auditing: Demonstrated ability to carry out stringent first-piece inspection procedures, confirm production configurations, and carry out regular line-roaming inspection checks.
