• Daily Factory Supervision as a Production Engineer

  Job Description

  Duties:

  Production Planning & Shift Execution: To consistently meet planned output targets, translate master production plans (MPS) into daily shift targets, assign machine capacity, assign labour, and supervise shop-floor operations.

  Process Optimisation & Line Balancing: To increase throughput, analyse assembly and machining process flows, carry out time-and-motion studies, balance line workloads, get rid of non-value-added tasks, and shorten cycle durations.

  Capacity Utilisation & OEE Improvement: To find machine bottlenecks and promote ongoing productivity gains, track overall equipment effectiveness, including availability, performance, and quality rates.

  Cross-Functional Shop-Floor Coordination: To quickly address material shortages, machine failures, and quality rejects, work closely with the Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room, Supply Chain, Environment, and Health & Safety teams.

  SOP Enforcement & Shop-Floor Safety: Make sure that operators strictly adhere to work instructions, process control sheets, standard operating procedures, and shop-floor safety regulations.

   

  Focus Skills:

  Mastery of Production Operations and Process Engineering: in-depth knowledge of manufacturing assembly lines, metal machining and fabrication procedures, line balance, cycle time calculations, and material flow concepts.

  Lean Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering Tools: Expertise in using Kanban systems, 5S, Kaizen, Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED), Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and Poka-Yoke (mistake-proofing) on the shop floor.

  Shop-Floor Problem-Solving & Bottleneck Analysis: Excellent analytical skills to identify line stoppages, carry out production shortfall root-cause analysis, and put corrective measures into place under strict shift deadlines.

  Effective leadership is necessary for managing shift technicians and line operators, promoting teamwork, enforcing shop floor discipline, and maintaining workplace safety procedures.
