  Job Description:

  The main "Technical Milling Setup & Precision Production Readiness Specialist" for our shop floor and manufacturing operations is the VMC Setter—Vertical Machining Center Setup, Fixture Alignment, Tooling Calibration & Shop Floor Operations. Your main responsibilities include setting up 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis Vertical Machining Centers, aligning intricate work-holding fixtures and vices using dial indicators, assembling and calibrating cutting tools, establishing work coordinate offsets, verifying G-code/M-code programs via dry runs, and performing first-off part inspections, while VMC operators oversee continuous component loading and CNC programmers write master CAM code. As the "Guardian of Setup Changeover Speed, First-Piece Pass Yield, Fixture Alignment Rigidity, Milling Accuracy, and Zero Collision Incidents," you have direct execution responsibility for connecting digital CAM programs with high-precision, physical milling operations.

   

  Key Skills: 

  Advanced VMC Machine Setup & Controller Expertise: Proficiency in operating Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, Mitsubishi, or Heidenhain controller offset menus and manual pulse generators; mastery of setting up 3-, 4-, and 5-axis Vertical Machining Centers.

  Precision Metrology & GD&T Mastery: Excellent ability to comprehend intricate engineering drawings with GD&T callouts and use precision measuring equipment.

  Comprehensive knowledge of milling geometries, carbide insert grades, speed/feed/chip-load computations, coolant strategies, and work-holding approaches for aluminium, cast iron, structural steel, stainless steel, and alloy steels.

  G-Code/M-Code Editing & Collision Prevention: Work/tool offsets may be adjusted, canned drilling/tapping cycles can be modified, cutter routes can be verified, and G-code/M-code can be read, edited, and troubleshooted directly on the control panel.
