  Job Description:

  The CNC Setter is responsible for executing complete machine setups, proving out CNC/VMC programs, establishing work coordinate systems (G54-G59), setting tool geometry and wear offsets, and optimizing machining parameters across shop-floor operations. Serving as the technical bridge between programmers and machine operators, this role ensures zero-defect First Piece approvals, reduces setup changeover times (SMED principles), enforces machining safety protocols, and maintains detailed setup tracking logs

   

  Key Skills: 

  Education: ITI / Trade Certificate (Turner / Machinist / Tool & Die) or Polytechnic Diploma in Mechanical / Production Engineering.

  Experience: 3–8+ years of hands-on experience as a CNC/VMC Setter, Setup Engineer, or Senior Machinist in precision manufacturing environments.

  Technical Mastery: Advanced blueprint reading & GD&T, Fanuc / Siemens / Haas CNC controllers, work/tool offset setting, cutting tool selection (carbide grades, inserts, geometry), G-code/M-code troubleshooting, precision metrology, and setup analytics tracking.
