• CNC Programmer Multi-Axis Machining

  Job Description

  Duties:

  CAD/CAM Programming & Simulation: Create, modify, and optimize 2D and 3D CAM toolpaths (turning, 3-axis/4-axis/5-axis milling) using software like Mastercam, Siemens NX, or Delcam; perform 3D machine simulation and collision checks before shop-floor deployment.

  Process Planning & Tooling Selection: Define optimal machining sequences, select cutting tools (carbide grades, geometry, coatings), specify cutting parameters (speeds, feeds, depth-of-cut), and calculate accurate cycle time estimates.

  Fixture Design & Machining Documentation: Collaborate with tool room teams to design work-holding fixtures, jigs, and soft jaws; generate detailed Operation Process Sheets, Tooling Layout Lists, and CNC Setup Sheets for setters and operators.

  Shop-Floor Proving & Program Optimization: Oversee program proving on the shop floor during initial runs, troubleshoot G-code errors, adjust feed rates and spindle speeds to eliminate chatter or tool breakage, and implement macro programming for family-of-parts.

  Cycle Time Reduction & Analytics: Analyze production bottlenecks, drive continuous improvement (Kaizen) projects to reduce cycle times, optimize tool life, and maintain program revision controls and master programming logs using spreadsheets

   

  Focus Skills:

  Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or Tool Engineering.

  Experience: 3–8+ years of hands-on experience as a CNC/VMC Programmer, CAM Engineer, or Process Planning Engineer in precision engineering, aerospace, automotive, or die/mold manufacturing.

  Technical Mastery: Advanced CAM software (Mastercam, NX CAM, PowerMill, Creo, SolidCAM), 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), Manual G-Code/M-Code macro programming, GD&T, cutting tool dynamics, Fanuc/Siemens/Heidenhain/Haas controls, and process analytics
