Job Description :
Quality Inspector Defect Reporting & Follow-Up
Job Description
The Quality Inspector in Manufacturing Industries is responsible for performing routine physical, visual, and dimensional inspections across incoming materials, in-process production, and finished components. Operating directly on the shop floor, this role uses precision handheld measuring instruments and inspection gauges to verify that parts strictly comply with engineering blueprints, process sheets, and quality specifications, ensuring non-conforming items are quarantined before advancing down the production line.
Responsibilities:
Perform incoming receiving inspection (IQC), in-process inspection (IPQC), and final pre-dispatch inspection (FQC) against engineering drawings, shop-floor job cards, and GD&T limits.
Utilize precision measuring instruments including vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, bore gauges, pitch gauges, and optical profile projectors.
Validate first-off inspection samples during machine setups and clear batch production runs in coordination with machine operators and production supervisors.
Identify surface defects, burrs, dimensional variations, or material discrepancies, immediately tagging and quarantining non-conforming parts in designated areas.
Log inspection readings, pass/fail quantities, scrap numbers, and rejection reasons into physical quality logbooks, inspection sheets, or digital ERP/QMS modules.
Assist Quality Supervisors and Engineers during initial failure investigations by providing physical samples, defect data, and dimensional trend observations.
Maintain clean inspection stations, handle measuring instruments carefully, and ensure tools are checked against calibration status tags before daily use
Skills:
practical experience in machining operations, mechanical inspection, or shop-floor quality inspection in a manufacturing setting.
the capacity to read and comprehend dimensional tolerances, mechanical engineering drawings, and fundamental GD&T symbols.
practical familiarity with precision portable measuring devices (such as thread plug gauges, callipers, micrometres, and height gauges).
Strict attention to detail, strong visual acuity, and reliable, impartial decision-making abilities
We invite you to apply and explore this exciting opportunity!
