  Responsibilities:

  CNC Machine Setup & Fixture Alignment: Use dial test indicators (DTI) to mount, align, and secure tombstones, chuck jaws, vises, modular fixtures, and unique work-holding devices on CNC turning centers, VMCs, and HMCs.

  Tooling Setup, Presetting, and Offset Setting: Place cutting tools, boring bars, drills, and mills into turrets or tool magazines; use touch probes or tool presetters to measure tool radii and lengths; precisely coordinate tool offsets and program work.

  G-Code Program Prove-Out & Dry Runs: To validate new G-code/M-code programs, check toolpath clearance, feed rates, spindle speeds, and avoid machine collisions through single-block runs, dry runs, and graphical simulations.

  First-Off Machining & Dimensional Validation: Before giving authorised setups to CNC operators, machine first-off sample components and use precision measuring tools to do 100% dimensional inspections.

  Operator and Process Stabilisation Handoff: Troubleshoot machining flaws during production runs and train CNC operators on work loading procedures, crucial dimensional check parameters, wear offset adjustments, and coolant application.

   

  Required Skills: 

  CNC Machine Setup & Work-Holding Mastery: A thorough understanding of how to set up CNC lathes, turning centers, 3-axis/4-axis VMCs, and HMCs (FANUC, Siemens, Haas, Mazak, or Heidenhain control systems), including jaw boring and dial indicator fixture alignment.

  G-Code Interpretation & Program Debugging: Demonstrated ability to safely prove out complex toolpaths, override feeds and speeds, create work coordinate systems, and read and edit G-code and M-code at the control panel.

  Expertise in Precision Metrology and Blueprint Reading: Proficiency in reading intricate engineering drawings, deciphering GD&T symbols, and using precision measurement instruments for first validation.

  Physics of Tooling and Machining Knowledge: Strong grasp of chip breakers, coolant types, cutting geometries, insert grades, feeds/speeds calculations, and tool wear mechanisms in steel, aluminium, cast iron, and exotic alloys.
