  Responsibilities:

  Fixture Setup & Workpiece Clamping: Align, dial, and secure fixtures, vices, and rotary tables on VMC tables using dial indicators, edge finders, and torque tools.

  Tooling & Offsets: Select and load cutting tools (end mills, drills, taps, face mills) into tool magazines, perform tool height/radius measurement, and input G-code/M-code work offset parameters.

  Program Prove-Out & Dry Run: Execute dry runs, single-block program checks, and feed-hold validations to prevent machine collisions and tool breakage during initial part setup.

  First-Off Inspection & In-Process QC: Measure initial trial components using precision metrology instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges) to grant first-piece clearance.

  Setup Analytics & Tool Life Tracking: Record setup changeover times, tool insert wear/breakage logs, machining downtime causes, and production target variations in daily tracking spreadsheets.

   

  Required Skills: 

  Education: ITI / Trade Certificate / Polytechnic Diploma in Machinist, Tool & Die Making, Mechanical, or Production Engineering.

  Experience: 2 to 6+ years of hands-on experience as a VMC Setter, CNC Setter, or VMC Machinist in precision component manufacturing (automotive, aerospace, tooling, or die-making).

  Technical Mastery: FANUC, Siemens, or Heidenhain controller operations, GD&T blueprint reading, cutter compensation, precision measurement, tool presetting, and setup troubleshooting

   

  Experience: 2 to 6 yrs
