  Job Description

  Duties:

  Create parametric 3D models, complex surface models, and detailed 2D fabrication drawings of mechanical components, sheet metal parts, weldments, and injection molds using SolidWorks.

  Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles, stack-up tolerance analysis, and material selection standards to ensure proper fit, form, and function during assembly.

  Perform basic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and static structural/thermal simulations using SolidWorks Simulation to evaluate stress, deflection, and mechanical integrity under operational loads.

  Generate and manage comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly structures, and design revisions within Product Data Management (PDM) systems.

  Participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews with production engineers and toolmakers to optimize manufacturing costs and cycle times.

  Prepare physical prototypes, coordinate rapid prototyping/3D printing iterations, and conduct design validation testing prior to mass production release.

  Maintain design document control, engineering change orders (ECO), and customer specification records according to company quality management systems

   

  Focus Skills:

  Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (3D CAD, Surfacing, Sheet Metal, Weldments, Assembly, and Detailing) and SolidWorks PDM.

  Deep understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, casting, and forging).

  Strong command of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 standards and tolerance stack-up analysis.

  Basic working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and simulation workflows.

  Excellent analytical problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and ability to read complex engineering blueprints
