  Job Description:

  The AR Analyst (Medical Billing) is responsible for analyzing aging accounts receivable, evaluating Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) workflows, conducting denial root-cause analysis, and formulating strategic appeals to maximize financial recovery. Operating beyond routine calling, this role identifies systemic payor claim issues, evaluates Days in Accounts Receivable (DAR), monitors Net Collection Rates (NCR), ensures strict HIPAA compliance, and provides data-driven financial insights to optimize cash flow for healthcare providers

   

  Key Duties:

  Accounts Receivable and Aging Analysis: Estimate aging over 30, 60, 90, 120 days, identify high-value pending claims, and perform trend analysis across payers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, managed care).

  Identify root causes and trends for rejections: Analyze ANSI notification and reason codes to identify system billing or front-end recording errors and collaborate with coding, payment entry, and payment posting teams to avoid repeat rejections. 

  Comprehensive payer appeal and dispute resolution strategy: Prepare high-level medical appeals, timely submit cap challenge letters, and review underpayment decisions using contract terms, clinical documentation, and payer policy guidelines.

  RCM Performance Reporting and Financial Analytics: Model monthly collections forecasts, billing trend analysis, denial resolution rates, and payer profitability reports using advanced tracking spreadsheets and business intelligence dashboards. 

  Process optimization and compliance: Audit workflow efficiency, monitor clearinghouse editing patterns, ensure adherence to HIPAA guidelines, and provide actionable RCM recommendations for operational management.
