  Job Description

  Duties:

  Shift Production Execution & Line Management: Oversee daily machining and assembly line operations, assign workers to the shop floor, keep an eye on hourly production output in relation to goals, and make sure that production schedules and Takt times are strictly followed.

  Cycle Time Reduction & Line Balancing: To decrease changeover times and increase overall throughput, conduct time and motion studies, optimise line balancing, remove process bottlenecks, and apply Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) procedures.

  Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) & Yield Optimisation: To promote ongoing yield improvements, keep an eye on OEE, First Time Through (FTT) yield, and scrap rates. Determine the underlying causes of process variations and material faults.

  Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & Lean Manufacturing: Promote 5S, Pokayoke (error-proofing), and Kaizen projects on the factory floor while enforcing operational compliance with SOPs, Control Plans, and Work Instructions.

  Cross-Functional Downtime Minimisation: Work together every day with the Maintenance, Quality, Toolroom, and Logistics teams to quickly resolve any machine malfunctions, tool wear, material shortages, or quality holds that could jeopardise shift output.

   

  Focus Skills:

  Manufacturing Operations & Assembly Line Optimisation: In-depth knowledge of assembly lines, machining processes, line balancing techniques, carrying out time and motion studies, and capacity planning.

  Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Tools: Practical use of 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Pokayoke, SMED, and Root Cause Analysis (5-Why, Fishbone diagrams).

  Strong understanding of shop-floor quality standards, SPC (Statistical Process Control), Control Plans, FMEA, non-conformance tracking, and First Time Through (FTT) yield metrics.

  Manpower Handling & Shop-Floor Leadership: Excellent leadership abilities to guide shift workers, oversee shop-floor discipline, settle operational disputes, and enforce safety regulations (PPE, ergonomic safety).
