  Job Description

  The Storekeeper is responsible for overseeing store operations, material handling, inventory control, and warehouse management within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures the secure receipt, systematic storage, accurate record-keeping, and timely issuance of raw materials, bought-out components, spare parts, tools, and finished goods to support seamless plant production.

   

  Responsibilities

  Receive incoming shipments, verify physical quantities against delivery challans/purchase orders, and perform preliminary visual checks.

  Coordinate with Quality Assurance (QA) for incoming material inspection and transfer goods into designated bin locations upon approval.

  Issue raw materials, tools, and spare parts to production and maintenance teams against authorized Material Requisitions or Job Cards.

  Maintain physical inventory accuracy by conducting regular cycle counts, physical verification, and periodic stock auditing.

  Accurately record all material movements (receipts, issues, returns, transfers) in the ERP / inventory management system (GRN creation, Issue Slips).

  Identify slow-moving, non-moving, or obsolete inventory and coordinate with Purchasing and Production teams for resolution.

  Ensure proper 5S layout, safety compliance, material handling equipment usage, and proper preservation of sensitive components

   

  Skills:

  Strong knowledge of storekeeping procedures, warehouse management practices, inventory control, and material identification techniques.

  Hands-on proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP MM module, Oracle, Tally) and MS Excel for stock reconciliation and reporting. 

  Understanding of FIFO (first in, first out), LIFO, ABC classification and minimum/maximum inventory replenishment levels.

  Knowledge of cargo handling equipment (forklifts, trolleys, stackers, overhead cranes). High precision, attention to detail, strong organizational ability and physical endurance
