Job Description :
Design Engineering & Models CATIA Design Engineer
Job Description
Our engineering division's "Digital Sculptor" and "Manufacturing Feasibility Engine" is the CATIA Design Engineer. Your main responsibility is to conceptualize, design, and validate high-precision mechanical components and complex assemblies within CATIA, converting raw product briefs and styling concepts into fully defined, production-ready 3D CAD data and 2D engineering drawings while production teams carry out physical assembly, stamping, and tooling operations on the floor. As the "Guardian of Design Intent, Parametric Integrity, and Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/DFA) Standards," you assume direct execution responsibility for creating reliable parametric models, overseeing top-down design architectures that are skeleton-driven, producing comprehensive production blueprints, and upholding precise engineering bill of materials (BOM) trees.
Responsibilities
Robust Parametric 3D Modeling & Design Assembly: Using CATIA, create and oversee intricate, fully constrained 3D parametric part models and multi-level mechanical assemblies while making sure feature trees are clean, stable, and constructed for design flexibility.
Top-Down Design Architecture Management: To facilitate smooth design changes across cross-functional engineering subsystems, establish and direct complicated product structures using published geometry, CATIA context connections, and skeleton models.
Production-Ready 2D Blueprint Authoring: Using CATIA Functional Tolerancing & Annotation (FT&A) or drafting modules, create comprehensive, production-ready 2D manufacturing drawings and assembly documentation with accurate Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing callouts that adhere to ISO or ASME Y14.5 standards.
DFM, DFA, and Tooling Feasibility Integration: Verify draft angles, parting lines, uniform wall thicknesses for plastic/casting domains, bend allowances, and sheet metal springback allowances by comparing designs to manufacturing constraints.
Skills:
Complete operational control over CATIA workbenches, including Part Design, Assembly Design, Generative Shape Design (GSD), Sheet Metal Design, and DMU Space Analysis, is known as CATIA Advanced Toolset Mastery.
GD&T Application & Drawing Interpretation Instincts: Expertise using GD&T frameworks to identify datums, define geometric controls, and optimize tolerance boundaries on intricate production prints.
Mechanical Science & DFM Engineering Foundations: Proficient knowledge of basic mechanical design principles for typical manufacturing processes such as die casting, plastic injection molding, sheet metal stamping, and intricate surface fabrications.
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) System Discipline: Practical experience managing files, processing engineering changes, verifying check-in/check-out rights, and creating revision histories within ENOVIA, 3DEXPERIENCE, or similar PLM vault designs.
We invite you to apply and explore this exciting opportunity!
