  Job Description

  The Production Engineer in Manufacturing Industries is responsible for overseeing shop-floor manufacturing processes, optimizing line productivity, ensuring cycle-time compliance, and implementing continuous improvement strategies. Working closely with product design, quality control, maintenance, tool room, and production planning (PPC) teams, this role focuses on streamlining assembly lines, reducing process waste, implementing lean manufacturing principles, and ensuring production targets are met within cost, safety, and quality benchmarks

   

  Key Duties

  Plan, control and optimize daily production processes, line balancing, equipment loading and labor deployment on the shop floor.

  Develop, standardize and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), standard work instructions (SWIs), line charts and process routing maps. 

  Perform cycle time, line balancing, and motion analysis (MOST/MTM) studies to identify process bottlenecks, eliminate non-value-added activities, and increase throughput.

  Collaborate with tooling department and design teams to implement design-for-manufacturability (DFM), design-for-assembly (DFA), and poka-yoke (proof-of-error) solutions for assembly tools and accessories. 

  Implement lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), One Minute Mold Change (SMED), and Kanban to reduce waste and lead time on the shop floor.

  Investigate production downtime, line stoppages, and component nonconformities with quality and maintenance teams by performing 8D Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and CAPA. 

  Track, analyze and report to plant management key plant performance indicators, including overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), line productivity, defect rates and labor productivity.
