    Job Description

    The principal "CAM Execution Lead, CNC Code Architecture Specialist, Machining Process Developer, Toolpath Optimisation Lead & Digital Machining Integration Lead" in each of our manufacturing facilities is the CNC Programmer CAD/CAM Modelling, G-Code/M-Code Development, Toolpath Optimisation, Machining Simulation & Operational Analytics Specialist. Your main task is to convert 2D engineering blueprints and 3D CAD models into highly effective, collision-free G-code/M-code programs for multi-axis CNC machines, while Machine Shop Managers, Plant Directors, Tool Room Engineers, and Production Planning Heads set overall production schedules, cycle time benchmarks, capital expenditure budgets, and quality compliance frameworks.

     

    Responsibilities

    CAD/CAM Modelling & Multi-Axis Toolpath Generation: Create optimised 2D, 3D, and multi-axis toolpaths for CNC turning and milling centers by importing 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings into CAM software (Mastercam, NX, SolidCAM, PowerMill).

    G-Code/M-Code Development & Post-Processing: Create, modify, post-process, and validate manual and CAM-generated G-code/M-code programs; set up post-processors for certain machine controllers.

    Machining Simulation & Collision Verification: Before releasing code to the shop floor, use software to perform complete 3D machine setup simulations in order to identify tool collisions, fixture interference, gouging, and over-travel issues.

    Tooling Selection, Speeds/Feeds, and Cutting Strategy Optimisation: To reduce cycle times and increase tool life, choose the best cutting tools, inserts, holders, and work-holding fixtures. Determine exact spindle speeds, feed rates, depth of cut, and dynamic high-speed machining toolpaths.

     

    Skills:

    CAD/CAM Software & Toolpath Generation Mastery: Expert knowledge of 3D CAD modelling software and industry-standard CAM software.

    Multi-Axis CNC Machining & Controller Expertise: Expert knowledge of FANUC, Siemens, Heidenhain, Haas, and Mazak G-code/M-code control systems, as well as a thorough grasp of multi-axis CNC turning, milling, VMC, HMC, and turn-mill machine architectures.

    Advanced ability to calculate feeds, speeds, material removal rates (MRR), chip loads, dynamic motion toolpaths, and choose cutting tools and coatings for titanium, aluminium, stainless steel, alloy steels, and cast iron.

    Metrology, Blueprint Reading, and GD&T Knowledge: Full proficiency in shop-floor precision inspection techniques, CMM report analysis, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and mechanical drawing interpretation.
