  Job Description:

  The Storekeeper in the Manufacturing Industry is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and maintaining accurate inventory records of raw materials, components, machine spare parts, tooling, and factory consumables. Working at the intersection of warehousing, production planning (PPC), and procurement, this role ensures smooth shop-floor material flow, prevents inventory stockouts, maintains physical safety and 5S organization, and logs all inventory movements accurately into the plant's ERP system

   

  Key Duties:

  Receive incoming raw materials, equipment, tools, and spare parts by checking physical quantities against purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices.

  Inspect incoming goods for shipping damage or obvious defects, coordinate with QA for customs clearance of incoming materials, and isolate defective goods.

  Store materials in designated bin locations, racks, and yards using proper material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) while maintaining First-In, First-Out (FIFO) or Batch control principles.

  Issue raw materials and production parts against authorized production job cards, material requisition slips, and BOM requirements. 

  Maintain minimum inventory, reorder levels, and safety stock thresholds by providing early warning to purchasing/PPC teams to avoid stockouts.

  Perform regular physical cycle inventory, periodic inventory checks and reconcile physical inventory and ERP system balances (e.g. SAP MM).

  Maintain strict store safety standards, fire hazard prevention, proper material stacking limits, and 5S cleanliness across all raw material and spare parts storage areas.

  Manage scrap, obsolete inventory, and returnable dunnage/pallets, ensuring timely clearance and documentation
