  Job Description

  Duties:

  Software Development & API Authoring: Use C#, ASP Dot NET Core, Dot NET 8/9, and Web API frameworks that follow SOLID design principles and clean architecture to design, write, test, and maintain scalable web apps, RESTful APIs, and backend microservices.

  Database Design & Query Optimisation: Use Entity Framework Core (EF Core) or Dapper to model, build, and optimise relational databases (PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server); design effective SQL queries, stored procedures, indexes, and migrations while removing performance bottlenecks.

  Microservices & Cloud Integration: Use message brokers to implement distributed microservice architectures, and use Docker containers, Azure App Services, Azure Functions, and Kubernetes to build cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure or AWS.

  Enforce strong security measures, such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT authentication, role-based access control, data encryption, and defence against OWASP top vulnerabilities, for application security and identity management.

  CI/CD pipelines, code review, and testing: To guarantee good code coverage, write automated unit tests (xUnit, NUnit) and integration tests; take part in peer code reviews; and manage automated build/deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.

   

  Focus Skills:

  Proficiency in C#, ASP Dot NET Core, Dot NET Framework/Dot NET 6/7/8/9, Web API, LINQ, Async/Await patterns, and Dependency Injection frameworks is essential for mastering the core Dot NET ecosystem.

  Database & ORM Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of relational/NoSQL database modelling, Entity Framework Core, Dapper, SQL Server, T-SQL performance tuning, and indexing techniques.

  Software Architecture & Design Patterns: Strong grasp of the concepts of Microservices Architecture, RESTful API design, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), CQRS pattern, MediatR, and Object-Oriented Design (OOD).

  Cloud, DevOps, and Tooling: Practical knowledge of AWS, Docker containerisation, Azure services, Git version control, and CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
