  Job Description

  The main "Frontline Financial Entry, Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) & Explanation of Benefits (EOB) Processing, Payment Reconciliation & Revenue Integrity Anchor" for our healthcare revenue cycle operations is the Payment Posting Executive Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), EOB/ERA Posting, Cash Reconciliation & Medical Billing Specialist. Your main responsibility is to accurately post payments, contractual adjustments, write-offs, and patient deductibles received from insurance payers and patients into medical billing software, while RCM managers and finance directors supervise overall revenue strategy and financial audits. As the "Guardian of Financial Accuracy, Payment Posting Speed, Cash Reconciliation Integrity, and Zero Posting Discrepancies," you assume direct responsibility for making sure that all incoming funds are appropriately distributed to patient accounts.

   

  Responsibilities

  ERA and Manual EOB Payment Posting: Accurately and quickly post insurance payments, contractual allowances, co-pays, coinsurance, deductibles, and non-covered amounts into medical billing software.

  Batch Reconciliation & Cash Balancing: To guarantee 100% financial reconciliation, balance daily posted batches against bank deposit sheets, lockbox statements, merchant processing accounts, and electronic funds transfer (EFT) notices.

  Denial Identification & AR Routing: During posting, identify claim denials, zero-payment vouchers, partial payments, and inaccurate insurance adjustments. Tag and forward them right away to the Denial Management/AR team for further investigation.

  Patient Payment & Credit Balance Processing: Handle write-offs, credit balance adjustments, remittances from collection agencies, and direct patient payments while noting possible patient refunds for accounting approval.

   

  Skills:

  EOB/ERA Interpretation & RCM Math: Proficiency in reading intricate EOB/ERA vouchers, comprehension of fee schedules, adjustment reason codes (CARC/RARC) and precise computation of co-pay/coinsurance splits.

  Medical billing software and clearinghouse navigation: practical knowledge of clearinghouses and medical practice management systems.

  Financial Reconciliation and Attention to Detail: Excellent numerical precision to balance daily financial batches against lockbox statements and bank deposits, down to the penny.

  HIPAA Compliance & Data Security: Secure management of Protected Health Information (PHI) and strict adherence to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules.
