    Job Description

    The Maintenance Engineer in Manufacturing Industries is responsible for ensuring the reliability, optimal performance, and continuous operation of all plant machinery, equipment, and utility systems. Working closely with production, quality, and safety teams, this role executes preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance protocols, troubleshoots complex mechanical and electrical failures, and leads root-cause analysis to minimize unscheduled production downtime and maximize machine availability

     

    Responsibilities:

    Plan, schedule, and carry out Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) plans for plant utilities, hydraulics, pneumatics, and production gear.

    During production breakdowns, troubleshoot and fix complicated mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues on the shop floor.

    Use diagnostic methods and instruments (such as thermography, oil analysis, and vibration analysis) to find possible machine problems before they happen.

    PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and motor control centers are examples of industrial automation systems that can be programmed, troubleshooted, and diagnosed.

    For significant equipment malfunctions, conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis and put corrective and preventive measures in place.

    Oversee the inventory of spare parts, identify key reorder levels, and work with suppliers of specialised repair services and machinery parts.

    Enforce stringent environmental health and safety regulations on the shop floor, such as safe work permits, risk assessments, and lockout/tagout procedures.

     

    Skills:

    Strong technical expertise in electromechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, and industrial utilities (chillers, compressors, boilers).

    Hands-on proficiency with PLC troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron, Schneider), VFDs, HMIs, and electrical schematics reading.

    In-depth knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Autonomous Maintenance, and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) concepts.

    Strong diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities to resolve high-pressure production breakdowns quickly and safely.

    Proficiency in CMMS/ERP maintenance modules (SAP PM) and MS Excel for maintenance tracking and failure reporting
