• Industrial Readiness & Setup with VMC Setter

  Job Description

  Duties:

  VMC Tooling & Fixture Setup Execution: Load and preload cutting tools into tool magazines in accordance with tooling sheets; mount and align tombstones, hydraulic vices, and precision fixtures on VMC tables.

  Work Offsets & CNC Program Verification: Use edge finders, Z-axis setters, or tool presetters to set and confirm work coordinates and tool length/radius offsets after loading CNC/VMC programs.

  Trial Runs & First-Piece Clearance: Before delivering first-off samples to production operators, machine them and use precision measurement tools to confirm important dimensions. Conduct single-block trial cuts and dry runs to check for tool clearance and code abnormalities.

  In-Process Machining Support & Parameter Adjustment: Help operators throughout production runs by resolving dimensional discrepancies or poor surface finishes, replacing worn or chipped inserts, and making small tool wear offset adjustments.

   

  Focus Skills:

  VMC Setup & Machining Operations Mastery: Extensive hands-on experience installing fixtures, loading G-code/M-code programs, configuring 3-, 4-, or 5-axis Vertical Machining Centers, and confirming tool path movements

  Tool presetters, Z-axis offset setters, dial indicators, edge finders, height gauges, micrometres, bore gauges, and surface roughness testers are all practical tools.

  Interpretation of Control Systems and Blueprints: Capacity to read and operate CNC controller interfaces (Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Haas), as well as comprehend intricate technical drawings, GD&T symbols, tolerances, and process layout sheets.

  Clamping and Machining of Workpieces Safety: Proficiency in torque standards, coolant management, vice alignments, safe workpiece clamping techniques and machine door safety interlocks.
