Job Description :

  • CNC Operator From Setup to Precision Production

    Job Description

The CNC Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring Computer Numerical Control (CNC/VMC) machines to fabricate precision metal or plastic components according to engineering blueprints and strict quality tolerances. Working within a manufacturing setup, this role performs machine setup adjustments, tool loading, material mounting, in-process quality inspections, and routine machine maintenance to ensure smooth production flow and high yield.

    Responsibilities

Load raw materials (castings, forgings, stock bars) onto CNC lathes, mills, or machining centers using appropriate fixtures, clamps, and vises.

Load program files, select correct tooling, insert tool holders, and set tool offsets/work coordinate offsets under instruction.

Run machine cycles, monitor cutting operations, listen for unusual tool wear or vibration, and adjust feed rates and spindle speeds as needed.

Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, dial indicators, CMM) against blueprint specifications.

Identify dimensional deviations, burrs, or surface finish defects and report machining errors or tool wear to the CNC Programmer or Production Supervisor.

Perform routine preventive maintenance, clean machine enclosures, remove metal chips, and monitor coolant, lubrication, and hydraulic fluid levels.

Log hourly production counts, scrap quantities, and machine downtime records accurately in shop-floor software or logbooks.

Enforce strict shop-floor safety rules, including wearing proper PPE, maintaining safety guards, and adhering to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures

    Skills:

Hands-on experience in operating CNC Lathes, CNC Turning Centers, or Vertical/Horizontal Machining Centers (VMC/HMC).

Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings, process sheets, and basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.

Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, dial gauges, thread plug gauges).

Basic understanding of G-codes and M-codes to identify block execution and perform basic tool offset/wear adjustments.

Good physical stamina, high attention to detail, and awareness of industrial safety standards

We invite you to apply and explore this exciting opportunity!
