    Job Summary

    We are looking for an experienced Medical Billing Trainer to design and deliver training programs for medical billing and healthcare revenue cycle teams. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on knowledge of U.S. medical billing processes and the ability to simplify complex concepts, coach new and existing employees, and evaluate training effectiveness.

    Key Responsibilities

    Conduct classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training for medical billing and RCM employees.
    Train employees on the complete medical billing lifecycle, including patient demographics, insurance verification, charge entry, coding basics, claim submission, payment posting, denials, rejections, AR follow-up, and appeals.
    Develop and maintain training materials, presentations, SOPs, assessments, and process documentation.
    Explain payer guidelines, billing workflows, terminology, and industry best practices in an easy-to-understand manner.
    Provide practical exercises and case studies based on real-world billing scenarios.
    Conduct knowledge assessments, mock audits, and competency evaluations.
    Monitor trainee performance and provide individual coaching and feedback.
    Identify knowledge gaps and recommend appropriate refresher or remedial training.
    Partner with Operations, Quality, and Process Excellence teams to ensure training aligns with business and client requirements.
    Stay updated on changes in payer policies, medical billing regulations, coding guidelines, and healthcare RCM practices.
    Track and report training metrics such as attendance, assessment scores, nesting performance, productivity, quality, and trainee improvement.
    Support new process or client transitions by developing and delivering training programs.
    Participate in quality calibration sessions and process improvement initiatives.
    Required Skills & Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred.
    5+ years of hands-on experience in U.S. medical billing / healthcare RCM.
    Prior experience as a trainer, SME, team lead, or quality analyst in a medical billing environment.
    Strong knowledge of U.S. healthcare billing and revenue cycle processes.
    Understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, and basic medical coding concepts.
    Knowledge of insurance plans, payer requirements, claim lifecycle, denials, and AR management.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Strong presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
    Ability to create effective training content and assessments.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    Proficiency with MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience training teams supporting U.S. healthcare clients.
    Experience with hospital, physician, or specialty medical billing.
    Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer processes.
    Experience working with EHR/EMR, practice management, or medical billing systems.
    Certifications such as AAPC, AHIMA, or CPB are an advantage.
    Experience in BPO/ITES or healthcare RCM operations is preferred.
