• VMC Operator VMC Job Setup & Production

  Job Description:

  Responsibilities:

  Setup workpieces, castings, or bill block stock onto VMC tables using appropriate work-holding devices (vises, modular fixtures, hydraulic clamps, and rotary tables/4th-axis units).

  Load cutting tools (end mills, face mills, drills, taps, reamers) into tool magazines, set tool length/diameter offsets, and confirm work coordinate origins.

  Run 3-axis or multi-axis VMC program execution, monitor chip evacuation and coolant spray, and adjust feeds and speeds to optimize cutting efficiency.

  Inspect machined features (pockets, bores, threads, step heights, hole patterns) using precision tools (micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, thread gauges).

  Identify and correct dimensional tool wear or thermal expansion deviations by adjusting wear offsets at the CNC control panel.

  Perform basic chip clearance, machine enclosure cleaning, coolant top-ups, and daily autonomous maintenance checks on hydraulic and lubrication levels.

  Report machining errors, excessive tool wear, fixture misalignments, or program errors immediately to the VMC Programmer or Shop Floor Supervisor.

  Adhere strictly to plant Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) rules, safety light curtain operation, proper PPE usage, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures

   

  Experience: 0 to 3 yrs

  Education: Any ITI/Diploma Graduation
