  Responsibilities:

  Advanced Milling Tooling Assembly: Carefully build and balance cutting inserts, solid carbide endmills, face mills, drills, and taps for the automated tool changer stations by interpreting intricate part drawings.

  Workholding Engineering: Using dial indicators to confirm part parallelism and runout within stringent bounds, set up and align complicated machine workholding systems, such as precision vises, modular fixture plates, 4th-axis rotary tables, and custom clamping jaws.

  G-Code Optimization & Troubleshooting: To modify feed rates, add block skips, fix tool path clearances, or optimize coolant delivery codes, load engineering program files into machine controllers and carefully examine code structures line by line.

  First-Part Trial Execution: To rule out the potential of a structural tool, fixture, or spindle collision, run the VMC through its first trial sequence using single-block controls, feed overrides, and dry-run modes.

   

  Required Skills: 

  Mastery of High-Precision Metrology: Proficient use of sophisticated measurement arrays, such as digital height masters, bore gauges, slip gauge blocks, dial test indicators, and coordinate measuring machine (CMM) readouts.

  Deep technical proficiency in exploring and altering program routes across significant industrial interfaces is known as multi-controller program fluency.

  Mechanical Troubleshooting & Material Logic: Quick speed, feed, or tool geometry repairs for alloy steels, stainless steel, aluminum, and cast iron; keen analytical intuition to identify milling noise, excessive heat accumulation, or inadequate chip evacuation.

  SMED & Setup Target Spreadsheet Literacy: The ability to track changeover breakdown categories, calculate setup efficiency rates, and record tool inventory consumption numbers within shop spreadsheets.
