  Job Description

  Duties:

  Backend Software Development & Microservices: Using Java and Spring Boot, create, develop, and manage high-throughput, low-latency Java applications and RESTful/gRPC microservices.

  Database Design & Query Optimisation: Use relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases, manage database schemas, optimise ORM/Hibernate mappings, and write effective SQL queries.

  API Design & Integration: Construct safe RESTful APIs, include other services, oversee API documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger), and apply authentication/authorization standards (OAuth2, JWT).

  Code Quality, Unit Testing, and Debugging: Conduct peer code reviews, troubleshoot production incidents, rework legacy code bases, and write unit and integration tests (JUnit, Mockito) to maintain high code coverage.

  CI/CD & Cloud Deployment Support: Work with DevOps for cloud deployments (AWS/GCP/Azure) and support pipelines for continuous integration and deployment (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes).

   

  Focus Skills:

  Core Java & Framework Expertise: Extensive understanding of OOP concepts, memory management, multi-threading, concurrency, and frameworks such as Hibernate, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data JPA.

  Database and Caching Technologies: Expertise with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) with a solid command of SQL, as well as NoSQL stores and caching solutions (Redis, Memcached).

  Distributed Systems & Messaging: Knowledge of message brokers (Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ) and event-driven design for distributed logging and asynchronous processing.

  Testing & Build Tools: Practical knowledge of code quality tools (SonarQube), build automation tools (Maven, Gradle), and unit testing frameworks (JUnit 5, Mockito).
